Basic Unit Leaders Training (BULT) for final year Teacher Trainees
Scout and Culture Education has been conducting Basic Unit Leaders Training (BULT) for final year teacher trainees since 2014 upon the Royal command as part of revitalization program to strengthen the Scouting program in the country. However, we could continue this for 2020 and 2021 due to the budget constraint owing to the pandemic.
Considering the importance of the training for the teacher trainees and most importantly with highest regard for the program being initiated upon the Royal command, Samtse College of Education has stepped forward to support the training financially. The technical support was mobilized by Samtse Dzongkhag Scouts Association in consultation with Bhutan Scouts Association.
The training ceremoniously commenced on 1 December 2021 inaugurated by the President of DSA, Samste, the Dasho Dzongda and successfully concluded on 7 December 2021 with President of the College gracing the closing ceremony.
The course was aimed at orienting the trainees on essentials of Scouting, equipping them to run a Scout unit back to the school and inspiring them to support the noble cause of Scouting with highest regard for the program being the His Majesty’s the King’s vision for young people.
The participants were taught Scouting fundamentals, pioneering skills, first aid, better world frameworks and technicalities of conducting the Scouting program.
Total of 180 teacher trainees took part in the week long training facilitated by 22 facilitators supported by 8 leadership Scout volunteers and the training is supervised by National Training Commissioner from Bhutan Scouts Association.
