Y-PEER Bhutan under the Youth Center Division, Department of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Education initiated the three-day 2nd National Y-PEER Bhutan e-Course from today to develop the capacity of young people to be productive and responsible citizens. The main objective of the e-Course is to equip and enhance the capacity of new members of Y-PEER Bhutan with new knowledge and skills to initiate and provide quality programs/services related SRHR through different media platforms as well as through peer-to-peer approach. The e-Course is also initiated with an expectation to engage young people meaningfully and productively during the National Lockdown where everyone is encouraged to stay at home.
There are 42 members from 8 Networks: FoNPH, GCBS, PCoE, NRC, RTC, CST, CNR and TTI Khuruthang participating in the e-Course that will happen for next three consecutive days (21-23 January, 2021). The 3-day e-Course will cover the following topics:
Introduction to Y-PEER
Volunteerism
ICPD agendas
Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)
Sex and Gender
Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
Gender Based Violence (GBV)
Healthy relationships, and
Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
The sessions will be facilitated by five Y-PEER Bhutan members who attended various capacity development trainings both at National as well as on an international level.
