YONGDREL!- GET-TOGETHER: AN ONLINE SCOUT PROGRAM
PARTICIPANTS: 150 SCOUTS, ROVERS, SCOUT LEADERS (TEACHERS/LECTURERS)
THEME: SHAPING PEACE TOGETHER DURING THE PANDEMIC
With children all across the country forced home from schools and Colleges till now and even with the opening of Schools, the normal Scouting sessions can never be resumed anytime soon. Therefore, we are presented with a unique challenge on how to remain connected without being permitted to meet. COVID-19 threw an unexpected wrench into our plans of the normal Scout camping and activities.
While virtual meetings are not a perfect substitute for gathering in person, especially for hands-on groups like scouts, the meetings still serve an important role in keeping spirits up and communications going. Therefore, the Division came up with YONGDREL: GET TOGETHER, 1st Online Scouting Program for all.
Yongdrel will endeavor to productively connect online and participate in a variety of Scouting activities. It will be a substitute for real Scout Camping. International resource speakers will conduct sessions on their efforts to fight the pandemic and provide insights to our Scouts on how to engage themselves during this difficult time. International Resource persons from Australia, Thailand, Fiji, India, the Philippines, Nepal and Malaysia will deliver webinars on earth tribe (Environment Education), Scouts of the world Award Program, Messengers of Peace activities, Scouts Go Solar and SDGs.
Advancement badge assessment shall also be conducted for interested aspirants for altering their badges to the next higher level. Entertainment, fun & challenging events, online camping, safe from harm modules, quiz and online games shall be prepared for the participants.
The program began from 16th September and will officially close with a formal closing ceremony online on 3rd October 2020.
