Objectives

  1. Identify in-service training needs of the teachers and decide its modus operandi.

  2. Streamline the development of Human resources to ensure effective utilization of resources.

  3. Implement the INSET programs on quality improvement of teachers for effective teaching-learning process both abroad and in country according to the HRD Master Plan of the Education Ministry.

  4. Strengthen the existing systems by which education staff and teachers can upgrade their knowledge and skills on a regular basis .

  5. Maintain a database of capacity building of teachers at the Dzongkhag and Clusters who have received training and qualification up gradation/specialization.

  6. Monitor the impact and relevance of the trainings

Activities

  1. Review and plan the HRD Master plan for the Education Ministry according to change in priority.

  2. Implement the HRD plan of the Ministry of Education.

  3. Coordinate the INSET in country programs (NBIPs, CBIPs)

  4. Execute all INSET Ex country training programs – Planned and adhoc programs (also includes non teachers).

  5. Follow-up the HRD programs assessing the impact, relevance and effectiveness of the acquired qualifications/training to teaching needs through self and external assessments and review the HRD Masterplan.

  6. Coordinate and extend support to the continuing teacher education programs.

  7. Coordinate and follow-up on the Teacher Undergraduate scholarship program with the Scholarship Division, DAHE.

  8. Liaise with the Donor Agencies/ Departments/Divisions/Foreign Ministry/RCSC/DADM/Project Managers/ stakeholders.

  9. Develop Institutional linkages with Universities in the region and abroad for relevant trainings/field visits/ short courses/attachments:

  10. Coordinate Teacher Education Board Meetings.

  11. Build database and information system on teacher development situation
