Institute Certificate course in Acting-Black Box Theatre
A total of 15 enthusiastic youths are taking part in a two-month-long training in The Black Box theatre- batch 02 which begins today in Thimphu. The Black Box Theatre – Drama Program is being organized by the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) to create and promote creativity among Bhutanese youths.
The Black Box Theatre program is fully funded under the Skills Development Program (SDP) MoESD. The participants will be trained in theatrical performance. Upon completion of the program, the participants will able to perform with confidence to be on the stage, or the screen. They will get a deep understanding in preparing for a character and play it with conviction. The work will start with understanding the self and preparing individually, gradually moving to co-actor work and then finally opening up to the audience in case of theatre and camera in case of films.
Upon Completion of the training, the participants will also be provided with 2 weeks Basic Entrepreneurship Course.
The SDP is, to mitigate the socio-economic impacts caused by the pandemic and to respond to the challenges posed by pandemic and to enhance the country’s economic resilience in the post-pandemic situation. The SDP program is also envisioned to benefit job seekers, laid-off workers, overseas returnees, and those affected by the current pandemic. More than 108 skilling areas in nine priority sectors are identified for implementation under the SDP in various public institutes and training centres.
